organ pipes lit with blue and red

A good long dose of organ study can do wonders. In the early 1980s, I headed off from New Zealand for a six-week RSCM course for overseas church musicians at Addington Palace in the UK (as you do). It changed my life. For a young Kiwi girl, learning so much about being a church musician was mind-blowing—and then there were all those famous places and organs to visit! I wish everyone could have a taste of it.

Sadly, that particular course is no more, but there are other ways to give your organ-playing batteries a recharge. How about the Royal College of Organists’ week-long course in London? It welcomes organists of ‘all ages and stages’, so there’s no wriggling out on either count! It’s very popular, though, so pop a reminder in your diary for January 2027, when bookings open. You’ll need to be quick.
